There are multiple articles on the internet with tips on how to interview for the company of your dreams. But, there is almost no advice for recruiters who are interviewing qualified personnel. Therefore, together with Daria Ilyina — Head of Talent Acquisition, we have compiled useful tips for recruiters.

Tailor the interview for each specific candidate.

Look for a personal approach, rather than acting according to a plan. Prepared questions are good, but not advisable.

Don’t keep quiet about the disadvantages of the company.

The most important advantage of any company is its honesty. Today, candidates increasingly value openness when dealing with employers.

Communicate clearly and simply.

Always put yourself in the place of the interlocutor and ask yourself — did he understand me correctly? Also avoid complex abbreviations and obscure vocabulary.

Remember feedback.

This is one of the most important parts. Always give detailed feedback, comments, or feedback from technical experts. This is not only professional, but also ethical towards the candidate.

Don’t practice slow-interviewing.

Today, candidates ‘live’ in the market for about 4-5 days. Therefore, you should not conduct too long interviews and ask all colleagues to communicate with a potential candidate. Save your and other people’s time.

Remember that people are not a resource.

Humanity is the new black. You can hire 100 people a day, but what’s the point if you don’t have a warm relationship with them? A good recruiter is not just a person who sends out documents, but is the one to whom they turn to for advice, help and new positions within their company.
